What the Sox have done is right several years of wrongs. For all the positive post-season records they set this year, we have to remember the legacy.
The most consecutive best-of-7 baseball playoff games lost by one team over more than one series is 12. That record was held by -- surprise! -- the Boston Red Sox in Games 6-7 of the 1986 World Series; Games 1-4 of both the 1988 and 1990 American League Championship Series; and Games 1-2 of the 1999 American League Championship Series, according to the stat monkeys at whowins.com.
Such facts only make last night's win that much sweeter.
Anway, that was an amazing post season. Next year, I think I'll throw caution to the wind and try to be a Cubs fan.
