- Just after CBS Sports attracted record traffic to its March Madness on Demand video, powered by Microsoft Silverlight, it announced it's using Adobe Flash for its coverage of the Masters golf tournament. However, CBS Sports will eventually pick a side -- senior vice president and general manager Jason Kint says the company hopes to settle on a single video platform by next year's NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, its biggest online attraction of the year.
- Credit Suisse analysts Spencer Wang and Ken Sena have estimated that Google could lose nearly half a billion dollars operating YouTube this year because of the site's legal liability and the fact that only 3 percent of its video inventory is monetized.
