Puerto Rican Cable Operator Deploys BigBand CMTS
OneLink, the largest cable operator in Puerto Rico with 138,000 subscribers in the San Juan area, says it picked the Cuda CMTS as part of its upgrade to the DOCSIS 2.0 platform. The BigBand equipment took the place of gear from another supplier, which OneLink declined to identify.
OneLink, created last year as an independent spinoff from Adelphia Communications, says it's also using BigBand's Broadband Multimedia-Service Router (BMR) as a platform to control its digital cable programming. It started using the Cuda CMTSs last year to provide faster broadband Internet access.
