  • Pan-European business services specialist COLT has appointed Mark Ferrari as its new CFO, with effect from March 31.   • Skype's CIO has published a "post-mortem" on the outage that hit the peer-to-peer (P2P) communications specialist last week. (See Downtime Hits Skype.)

  • Eutelsat Communications S.A. has launched a satellite that, the company says, has the capacity to provide broadband connections to 1 million European homes at "speeds comparable to ADSL."
