With Europe still on post-Christmas shutdown, there’s little in the way of telecom-sector activity. But the market’s not totally quiet, as German giant Deutsche Telekom AG (NYSE: DT) has cost-cutting plans for its Greek operations, while something’s stirring in the undersea tunnel that connects France to the U.K.
British and French mobile operators are teaming up to provide mobile phone coverage in the Channel Tunnel, with Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) set to install the requisite technology, reports The Daily Telegraph.
