MERRIMACK, N.H. -- Xanoptix, Inc. is pleased to announce a
smaller form factor version of the XTM-1ä high-density optical
transceiver. This latest XTM-1 is made for distances greater than 1km
and has a total bandwidth of 225 Gb/s.
XTM-1’s small form factor is achieved by the use of massively parallel
optical transmitters and receivers, custom IC design which includes the
on-chip laser drivers and receiver amplifiers, breakthroughs in
packaging and the use of a new ferrule for MT form factor connectors.
This innovative 72-fiber connector incorporates a dense 6x12 array of
multimode fibers. The XTM-1 transceiver contains 36 transmit and 36
receive channels operating asynchronously up to 3.125 Gb/s per channel.
The XTM-1 is ideal for a variety of interconnect applications due to its
significantly smaller size and efficient use of circuit board space.
“The size and versatility of the new XTM-1, combined with its proven
capabilities, sets the standard for optical network solutions.” said
John Trezza, President and CTO of Xanoptix. “XTM transceivers allow
networks to reach previously unobtainable levels of efficiency and
speed.”
