TI Dominating Cable VoIP Market

Yes, Scientific-Atlanta (S-A), a long-time Broadcom customer, is now on the record announcing that the E-MTAs it is shipping use Broadcom voice silicon and software. (see previous CDN Blog posting). Not exactly a revelation. :icon_rolleyes: Despite Broadcom's bravado, it is Texas Instruments that is now dominating the PacketCable E-MTA voice market. So far, TI has shipped enough silicon and software to support more than 2 million cable VoIP lines. Indeed, the top two E-MTA vendors -- Motorola and ARRIS -- both use TI voice solutions. And together, these vendors alone controlled more than 60% of the worldwide E-MTA market in Q3 2004.
