Telcordia With Fries?

Early returns are in on Light Reading’s August Research Poll. Short version: Light Readers are slightly goofy.

In the wake of recent rumors that Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) may be looking to unload its subsidiary, Telcordia Technologies Inc., we’re polling our readership on their views of this momentous, if hypothetical, event (see SAIC May Sell Telcordia and Source: Telcordia Sends Out Feelers): Good thing, bad thing? What’ll it cost? Who’ll be the buyer? Blah blah blah?

Well.

So far, more than half of you think the prize will go to Burger King. And nearly 60 percent think this will be good for the telecom industry.

But think, people: What would this mean for the fast food industry? Osmine-certified Big Macs®? Or (shudder) Donny & Marie tie-ins? Oh! The humanity!

As for the more serious matters covered in the poll... Screw’em! If you want to know all those cheesy details, you’ll just have to katchup by taking the poll: here. We look forward to sharing more complete returns with you in the near future.

In fact we relish the opportunity!

— Larry, Monkey, Light Reading
