Re: Big Data? "If someone says Big Data, I immediately think NSA and a gigantic data center in Utah."

Ha! BTW How do we know the NSA isn't essentially a gigantic data center in Utah?

Re: Big Data? Yup, it is truly an amorphous term and logically seems to imply there is also Small Data. I do sincerely wish the industry would come up with something better. Besides, Big Data sounds downright scary. If someone says Big Data, I immediately think NSA and a gigantic data center in Utah.

Re: Big Data? Yes, especially in the form of location context and the like. It was pretty funny, nearly all the speakers that used this term preceeded using by saying: "I hate the term 'big data'."

Couldn't help but notice that.

Big Data? Curious whether Big Data and subscriber privacy came up during the event since it seems that, quite understandably, one of the top targets of Big Data vendors is mobile operators.
