Poll Update

1:00 PM -- Today's Light Reading Readers' Choice Person of the Year Award poll update (see Light Reading's Person of the Year: The Finalists):

The Canadians are coming!

In the past 24 hours, Nortel's Philippe Morin has staged a rally, jumping from ninth place to second, and blasting ahead of Juniper's Kim Perdikou. Morin now has a little more than 8 percent of the total vote and leads Perdikou by 90 votes.

Tech Mahindra CEO Vineet Nayyar still commands a huge lead, but his supporters appear to have lost some steam this week, so all others in the race will have the rest of the month to catch up.

More notes from the polls:

The winner of the Person of the Year Award -- and all our other Leading Lights Awards -- will be announced at a special awards dinner on October 15 in New York City following the first day of our Ethernet Expo.

The Person of the Year poll closes September 28, which is also the entry deadline for the remaining Leading Lights awards categories. To submit your entry for Leading Lights, go to www.lightreading.com/awards.
