SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Polaris Networks, a developer of new generation optical transport switching systems for the metro core, today announced the appointment of Jake Vigil as the company's senior vice president of operations. Bringing more than 22 years of senior management experience in engineering, manufacturing and operations, Jake will be responsible for the entire operational infrastructure at Polaris including product engineering.

Jake brings a wealth of experience in efficiently managing and scaling up engineering and operations in large and small companies such as HP, Tandem, MIPS, BrightLink Networks and Burroughs, is a great asset to Polaris," said Surya Panditi, CEO of Polaris. "Jake's proven track record in managing product development through to gearing up for volume production, makes him uniquely qualified to head operations at Polaris."
