SALEM, N.H. -- Optical networking innovator Lightchip Inc. today welcomed networking sales veteran Robert Hughes to its executive management team as vice president of sales. Lightchip provides optical wavelength management solutions for the routing and real-time monitoring of optical network pathways. Lightchip's solutions are targeted at communications original equipment manufacturers and integrators to give their service provider (CLECs, MSOs, ILECs) and enterprise customers the ability to reliably and cost-effectively deliver optical network services.

Hughes brings to Lightchip more than twenty years of networking and telecommunications experience. He most recently served as vice president of Worldwide Sales Engineering at Brooktrout Technology, Inc. in Needham, MA, where he dramatically grew revenues by partnering with service providers and carrier-class customers.
