HR Launches Global Ethernet Executive Council

Heavy Reading today is launching the global Ethernet Executive Council, an exciting new initiative establishing a value-rich community of service and technology experts shaping the Carrier Ethernet and cloud services markets. A key goal of the program is to strengthen information sharing and networking opportunities among service-provider experts and to provide analytical insights that can help accelerate Ethernet-related market growth. Heavy Reading has created the Ethernet Executive Council to honor individuals who have demonstrated industry leadership and a personal commitment to advancing the use of high-performance Ethernet services and technologies for the benefit of retail, wholesale and consumer customers. Among other things, the program will provide Council members with exclusive networking, speaking and LRTV interview opportunities at Light Reading's Ethernet-related events, the chance to participate in Heavy Reading Q&A interview columns published on Light Reading sites, and access to valuable state-of-the-industry and enterprise end-user survey-based reports.
Thus far, nearly 90 executives and other senior professionals from 56 service providers worldwide have accepted invitations to join the Ethernet Executive Council. Council members have a wealth of expertise related to Ethernet-based business/cloud, wholesale, mobile and residential services, and/or the converged Ethernet/MPLS/packet optical network infrastructure used to deliver these services. In many ways, these individuals represent the service provider core of the Ethernet community.
Ninety percent of Council members hold positions at the director level or above. Sixty-four percent are involved in corporate management, marketing or product management, while 36 percent are network technology experts.
