Fast. Web.
12:30 PM -- The Italians are breaking out their Members Only jackets and LA Looks hair gel for a little retro celebration today. FastWeb SpA is now touting a "single play" offering -- "a new ADSL service with a certified speed of 6 Mbit/s."
The offer is aimed at Internet users who want to keep their telephone line with Telecom Italia SpA (NYSE: TI), the main incumbent carrier, but also want a cheap, fast Internet service.
Subscribers to the new service can get all-you-can-eat broadband for €40 a month (roughly 13 gallons in the US) or they can buy blocks of time for €25, €50, or €100.
Are broadband companies in the US ever going to be this creative?
