But, like its attitude with wireless, Cox is remaining quiet about exactly when and where the multi-room DVR product will debut. The MSO did confirm that it will use Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) to shuttle shows around the home network. (See Cable's Wild About Wireless.)
And that was just one of the big takeaways from last week's shows: U.S. cable evidently is done ceding multi-room DVR ground to Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) and AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), and expects to get the service off the ground in a big way as early as this year. And, not surprisingly, MoCA appears to be the home networking platform of choice for most of them.
