BATM, Lightscape Complete Co-Testing

TEL AVIV -- BATM Advanced Communications Ltd. (London: BVC) a leader in mass IP networking, today announced that it has successfully completed interoperability tests with Lightscape Networks, a member of the ECI Telecom Group (NASDAQ/NM symbol: ECIL) and an international leader in optical networking technology. The combination of Lightscape Network’s intelligent transmission and BATM’s Ethernet switching and IP routing enables service providers to build scalable and flexible data-centric transmission networks. Tests carried out with BATM’s multilayer, multiservice Ethernet solutions and Lightscape Networks’ trans-network optical platform demonstrated that services can be extended from the network edge on the Local Area Network (LAN) side through to the core of the Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). Test results showed end-to-end wire speed performance over a network running numerous high bandwidth applications.

“The blossoming demand for bandwidth intensive services in LAN and MAN markets compels service providers to squeeze as much juice as possible from their infrastructure,” said Dr. Zvi Marom, President and CEO of BATM. “Our multilayer Titan switching solution combined with Lightscape Networks’ XDM platform enables service providers to significantly enhance network performance and yield a greater return on their infrastructure investment using these best-of-breed cost-effective solutions.”
