AT&T snaps up T-Mobile's unwanted midband spectrum from UScellular
T-Mobile has determined 3.45GHz spectrum is not suitable for its 5G network. But AT&T continues to use C-band and 3.45GHz spectrum for its 5G midband network buildout.

Matt Schmitt is a Principal Architect at CableLabs. Matt has worked in the cable industry on DOCSIS and other technologies for over 20 years with CableLabs and several manufacturers. On the DOCSIS side he led the development of the DOCSIS 3.1 specifications at CableLabs, and has also led or played a significant role in the development of the DSG, Modular CMTS, DOCSIS 3.0, CCAP, and C-DOCSIS specifications. After leading the Lab Services team at CableLabs for several years, Matt is now back to leading CableLabs R&D projects, this time in the optical space with Point-to-Point Coherent Optics, as well as leading the cross-functional Low Latency Program to bring various low latency related projects under a common umbrella, while maintaining responsibility for the various CableLabs Certification programs.
