Accelerated Makes Changes

MOORPARK, Calif. -- Accelerated Networks (Nasdaq:ACCL) today announced that Edward E. Thurman has resigned as an officer of the Company to take on a senior management role with a non-competitive company. Thurman joined Accelerated Networks in May 2000 as chief technology officer where he was instrumental in guiding the Company's product and technology direction, with a particular emphasis on very large-scale multiservice broadband access deployments. He became president and chief operating officer in November 2000.

"Ed was a valuable member of our management team," stated Gary J. Sbona, the Company's Chief Executive Officer. "His knowledge of the large service provider market, combined with his leadership skills, has benefited the Company over the last year. We are pleased that Ed has agreed to continue as a consultant to the company through the summer."

Additionally, the Company announced the promotion of Pete Patel to senior vice president, engineering and operations. Patel has been vice president of operations at Accelerated Networks since early 1999. Patel has significant industry experience and is an outstanding manager with a strong working relationship with the engineering organization.
