To begin providing network services across the Japan-U.S. Undersea Cable Network

TULSA, Okla. -- Williams Communications (NYSE: WCG), a leading broadband provider for bandwidth-centric customers, announced today it will begin providing network services across the Japan-U.S. Undersea Cable Network. "By utilizing the Japan-U.S. undersea cable, Williams Communications will provide direct access to and from global financial markets, while offering fast, reliable and cost effective services to our customers," said Miller Williams, senior vice president and general manager, Williams Communications' international group. "There is a strong demand for bandwidth across the Pacific and we will be driving high volumes of traffic onto our domestic backbone, the largest next-generation network in the United States." This is another major step in implementing Williams Communications' local-to-global network strategy.
