Tyco nominates Brendan O'Neill, CEO of Imperial Chemical Industries, to board of directors

PEMBROKE, Bermuda -- Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE:TYC, BSX: TYC, LSE: TYI) announced today that Brendan R. O'Neill, Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Chemical Industries PLC, will fill one of the vacancies expected to open on the Board at or before the Company's next annual general meeting. In addition to Mr. O'Neill, three other nominees, Bruce Gordon, Sandra Wijnberg, and Dennis Blair, have been nominated to join the Board. They will become Board members either when there are additional resignations from existing directors or at the Company's next annual meeting. Mr. Breen said: "I am pleased to welcome Brendan O'Neill as a nominee to the Tyco Board. He brings a great range of international business experience to Tyco, as well as considerable expertise in manufacturing. I am confident that he will bring a valuable perspective to the Board." Mr O'Neill is the Chief Executive of Imperial Chemical Industries PLC (ICI), one of the world's leading specialty products and paints businesses. ICI is a global leader in creating, developing, making and marketing ingredients for foods and personal care, specialty polymers, electronic materials, fragrances and flavors. Prior to Mr. O'Neill's career at ICI, he held numerous positions at Guinness PLC, including Chief Executive of Guinness Brewing Worldwide Ltd, Managing Director International Region of United Distillers, and Director of Financial Control.
