TeliaSonera Proposes New Directors

TeliaSonera nominates Sven-Christer Nilsson and Paul Smits as new members of the board

STOCKHOLM -- TeliaSonera (LSE:TLSNq) (Nasdaq:TLSN): Sven-Christer Nilsson and Paul Smits will be appointed as new members of the Board of Directors of TeliaSonera. Carl Bennet is proposed as Deputy Chairman, succeeding Lars-Eric Petersson, who has declined to offer himself for re-election. Otherwise, it is proposed that the current directors should be re-elected. It is therefore proposed that TeliaSonera's Board of Directors should consist of the following members after the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, to be held on 8 May. Tapio Hintikka (Chairman), Carl Bennet (Deputy Chairman), Ingvar Carlsson, Eva Liljeblom, Sven-Christer Nilsson, Paul Smits, Caroline Sundewall, Roger Talermo and Tom von Weymarn. Sven-Christer Nilsson was formerly CEO and President of LM Ericsson AB and Paul Smits was formerly CEO and President of KPN in the Netherlands. The following directors' fees are proposed: to the Chairman, SEK 750,000; to the Deputy Chairman, SEK 550,000; and to the other directors, elected by the Annual General Meeting, SEK 400,000 each. The fees include remuneration for work on Board committees. The proposals will be considered under items 10, 11 and 12 on the agenda for the Annual General Meeting on 8 May.
