PARIS -- Didier Lombard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of France Telecom, has decided to submit to the Board of Directors on 24 February a proposal to separate the functions of Chairman and CEO as of March 1, 2010.
If this proposal is accepted by the Board of Directors, Didier Lombard will, in his role as Chairman of the Board of France Telecom, notably be responsible for the definition of the Group’s strategic and technological orientations. Stephane Richard, currently the Chief Executive Officer Delegate, will become Chief Executive Officer and will take management responsibility for the Group’s operations. In this role, he will notably be responsible for the deployment of the new industrial project as well as the new social contract, which will be presented in the coming weeks.
