Vantrix expands congestion management options for video optimization.
February 11, 2014
MONTREAL -- Vantrix, a global provider of intelligent media delivery solutions to mobile network operators, today announced the availability of version 3.3 of its flagship product, Bandwidth Optimizer. This release provides new server-based congestion management capabilities that can automatically optimize video traffic based on current network congestion conditions without requiring any type of external probes or data from third-party sources. Bandwidth Optimizer 3.3 also introduces new congestion detection reporting metrics with real-time analytics that provide insight into current and ongoing congestion across the network.
Bandwidth Optimizer now detects if a session is impaired due to either network congestion or poor cell coverage for a given user and automatically executes appropriate optimization policies. It also provides enhanced YouTube MPEG-DASH Optimization that reduces bandwidth requirements by 40-50 percent. Bandwidth Optimizer 3.3 enables service providers to deliver content to mobile devices more intelligently by optimizing traffic only when needed, providing a more consistent, high quality of experience (QoE) for subscribers even over congested or impaired networks.
