10:00 AM -- Canoe Ventures LLC , the cross-MSO initiative, promises to give U.S. cable a uniform advanced ad platform, but Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) (a Canoe backer, by the way), is well out in front with several of its own initiatives, including "Optimum Select," an app that allows users to request more info on an advertised product using their remote controls. Barry Frey, Cablevision's EVP advanced platform sales, talked up the MSO's interactive ad initiatives, including the use of targeted, addressable spots, at last week's Future of Television conference in New York.
