HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- j2 Global Communications, Inc. [NASDAQ: JCOM], a provider of outsourced, value-added messaging and communications services, has today announced its expansion into India.

The virtual messaging specialist has debuted its service by introducing local geographic numbers for its eFaxR service in Mumbai, with other local numbers to follow.

India a key component in global expansion plans India has always been an important market to j2 Global, and is a critical territory in its continued global expansion plans. j2 Global currently has a number of eFaxR subscribers in the region who have previously had to take a number from outside their country.

Businesses to save considerable sums

With the high level of international corporations holding a portion of their portfolios in India, eFaxR is set to save both local and global businesses significant investment as it eliminates the additional cost of phone lines and fax machines, and offers graded levels of online storage based on the businesses' individual requirements.

eFaxR is a seamless interface between every fax machine and e-mail account in the world. The service offers a local fax number to individuals and organisations of all sizes, and delivers all correspondence to an email account or fax machine.

Hemi Zucker, co-president and chief operating officer of j2 Global, said: "Strategically, India is a key market for us. The addition of Mumbai to our global network enables us to provide a local option to customers in India, in addition to the 2000 plus other locations around the globe.

"Economic and business growth in this emerging market is massive, and so there is a strong need for our eFaxR service. By introducing localised geographic numbers for the Mumbai region, we will provide businesses with convenient, affordable email-to-fax services, as well as offering existing users the opportunity to switch to a localised number.

"India will play an increasingly important role in the global economy in the 21st century, and we are delighted to support this growth with our investment in the region."
