Band-X Deploys NexTone

GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- NexTone(R), a leader in session border controllers and scalable solutions for VoIP, multimedia, and IMS network interconnects, today announced that Band-X, a Managed Services business based in London, has completed a successful deployment of NexTone's web-services capability. Band-X's customer that is utilizing NexTone's web-services is RouteTrader, a London-based business offering an online trading platform for the termination of international minutes.

The web-services capabilities of NexTone's Real-time Session Manager (RSM) used in conjunction with NexTone's Multi-protocol Session Exchange (MSX) platform allows Band-X's customers to implement flow-through provisioning using a standardized web services SOAP/XML API. As the first Band-X customer to utilize the new product offering, RouteTrader is now able to automatically provision new end-points, suspend end-points, change capacity, and set up new routes using links from the RouteTrader platform to the NexTone platform hosted and managed by Band-X.

The web-services capabilities offered by NexTone serve as a crucial component of RouteTrader's business model. RouteTrader is now able to provide a secure, online trading environment for the termination of international minutes using Lloyds TSB Bank's online escrow solution. RouteTrader's members can create accounts online and then buy and sell international minutes with other members, with transactions automatically flowing through NexTone's solution. RouteTrader extends the following key benefits to its customers: market-leading rates, the speed of platform set up and arranging trades, and the elimination of credit risk. Additionally, the high degree of automation means that RouteTrader is able to offer its customers a very low commission charge.
