ANAHEIM -- NeoPhotonics announced today that it is ramping its transceiver production capacity in Shenzhen, China, to 250,000 units per month to meet rapidly growing customer demand for its GEPON, GPON, SFP and XFP transceivers. These active devices represent key building blocks for today’s evolving FTTx, transport and reconfigurable optical networks.

NeoPhotonics is adding 25,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing floor space at its production facilities in Shenzhen, China, to increase the total monthly manufacturing capacity for transceivers to 250,000 units. The new capacity will primarily be used for different GEPON and GPON modules, as well various configurations of standard, CWDM, DWDM and Bi-Directional SFP transceivers and XFP modules.
