The companies also announced the successful joint deployment of a GSM Backhaul over Satellite solution for a leading cellular operator in Colombia.

As a result of the successful interoperability tests and regional deployment, as well as the establishment of the Cellular-Over-Satellite alliance, Verso and Shiron have extended their reach in the market with their field proven GSM solutions. Verso’s GSM compression and optimization solutions, when combined with Shiron’s InterSKY RBOD (“Real-Time Bandwidth-On-Demand”) reduce bandwidth requirements by approximately 65 percent when compared with traditional GSM over Satellite implementations.
