9:15 AM -- Italian regulator Agcom has begun the process that will likely end with the structural separation of Telecom Italia (TIM) 's access network from the rest of the incumbent's business.
The Italians have been considering this regulatory model, already implemented in the U.K., for some time. (See Italians to Separate, Telcos Consider the Splits, and BT Opens Up Access.)
Agcom's formal announcement is available in Italian only.
