ST. PETERSBURG. Fla. -- To deliver total solutions that meet customers' unique and changing demands, Progress Telecom, a leading provider of broadband services, today announced the development and launch of FlexBand. Immediately available, FlexBand offers customers the ability to bundle current and future bandwidth needs into a single transaction, thereby qualifying for volume discounts, as well as the freedom and flexibility to activate circuits as needed.

FlexBand takes individualized, easy-to-use solutions to a new level," said Paul Aiello, Progress Telecom's vice president of sales and marketing. "Our deep presence in seven of the east coast's fastest growing metro areas puts customers where they need to be without costly slow-downs or delays. We collaborate with our customers to create total solutions for their metro market transport." Progress Telecom's customers include carriers, high-end enterprises, ISPs and ASPs.

With FlexBand, we can focus on transactions of scale—giving our customers the ability to grow their bandwidth needs over time---as business dictates," said Aiello. "Circuit termination can be provided to a mix of pre-defined metro locations in multipoint or hub designs—from a central point out to locations or between multiple locations."

FlexBand-enabled solution is one that would provide an international customer connectivity from one of Progress Telecom's many South Florida cable landing station POPs to multiple points throughout the Miami metro area. First, a customer would select both site and bandwidth requirements. Then a timeframe would be specified for activation, accompanied by per-increment billing to fulfill the order commitment. The customer would benefit by receiving both a volume discount and the flexibility to connect sites based on their business requirements.

Progress Telecom customers are assured of industry-leading provisioning intervals - 10-days on-net - and 24/7 monitoring by the company's fully redundant, hurricane-hardened Network Operations Center (NOC). The company's network continues to deliver 99.999% service level reliability.
