Lightcross Debuts VOA Arrays

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. -- Lightcross, Inc., an innovator of silicon-based Electro-Optical Integrated Circuits (EPIC(tm)), today announced the availability of their high speed Variable Optical Attenuator (VOA) arrays.

Lightcross' VOA arrays are based on silicon EPIC(tm) technology to achieve industry leading sub-microsecond response times, very wide attenuation range, low PDL, small insertion loss, and low power consumption. The high speed and simple current control characteristics of the EPIC(tm) VOA array make them ideally suited for optical transient suppression and subcarrier modulation applications. These VOA arrays are also well suited for a variety of power management applications in optical networks.

Lightcross offers 4, 6, 8 and 10 channel VOA arrays as standard products and is currently shipping small volume pre-production samples with general availability in October 2003.
