ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Eudyna Devices Inc. announces a series of new products for long-reach DWDM optical transmission applications. The new products include 80km DWDM EML TOSA, PIN & APD receivers integrated with VOA (Variable Optical Attenuator). These new products are based on Eudyna’s best-in-class EML, APD and high speed IC technologies, backed by a long history of high-volume manufacturing and superior quality. Eudyna’s proprietary chip technology is the key to assure a high degree of integration in a miniature module with high quality and reliability. The TOSA is designed specially for pluggable optics such as XFP, X2 and Xenpak modules. The PINs & APDs are particularly for addressing longer transmission distance in DWDM applications. A live-demonstration, 120km transmission between a DWDM TOSA and a VOA integrated APD receiver, will be shown at OFC 2006.

Masahiro Kobayashi, Board Member of Eudyna, responsible for Lightwave Business, commented, “We are excited about this new product series. Eudyna is the leader for DWDM optical components. Our DWDM TOSA and ROSA enable new generations of pluggable DWDM solutions; and a new receiver series with linear and VOA functions enable longer reach DWDM solutions.”

“Our customers have been expecting these new products.” added Jane Li, Senior Vice President for Eudyna USA, “The market demands pluggable 10G DWDM solutions and component technology was the bottleneck. Timing is also right for our new linear and VOA receiver products. With the new products, our customers can now have enhanced performance on both DWDM 300pin and pluggable modules.”

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Eudyna Devices Inc. announces new breakthrough of output power in EML products for 10G long haul optical transmission applications. The high output power EML is truly a monolithic solution, which does not require semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) to boost output power. It will replace current LN modulator solution with benefits of small form factor and low cost. It is an ideal solution for single channel 10 G SONET (80km, 1600ps/nm dispersion) applications and 10G CWDM/DWDM applications. Sample shipments will start in April 2006.

The high power EML technology of Eudyna will enable a number of market frontiers recently under development. Beyond high power outputs, the technology also fundamentally addresses the low power consumption, extended temperature application. With this technology, Eudyna is able to develop semi-cooled TOSA solutions for low power consumption and extended operation temperature range.

Currently Eudyna high power EML lasers can provide +4.0 dBm output power from single mode fiber pigtail. They are packaged in the industrial standard butterfly package. The high power EML technology will reduce laser operating current to a minimum that leads to low power consumption of the thermoelectric cooler and wide temperature range.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Eudyna Devices Inc. announces a new series of 10G PIN ROSA products for 10GBASE enterprise access networks. Eudyna provides the most advanced and innovative APD/PIN receiver solution. As an emerging pluggable optics platform, LRM ROSA is one of the key enablers to 10G BASE-LRM. The LRM ROSA works perfectly with new technology of electronic dispersion compensation (EDC) and 10G BASE-LRM provides low cost and smaller form factor comparing to existing 10G BASE-LX4. Production shipments will start in April, 2006.

The ERP1412 series receivers are integrated with newly developed extra-low-noise transimpedance amplifier ICs. They achieve a high sensitivity of –15 dBm OMA and +6 dBm OMA overload. The new TIA offers very good linear output swing up to 1100mV (differential peak to peak), high signal to noise ratio and extremely low harmonic distortion. The proprietary optical coupling system facilitates the direct coupling from a GI62.5 multimode fiber with excellent optic-electrical responsivity of 0.8A/W. It features high transimpedance of 750 W (single ended) and 11GHz bandwidth. The SC/LC optical interfaces are available for different transceiver platforms like XFP, X2 and Xenpak.
