FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Proxilliant Systems Corp., which offers solutions essential to broadband service expansion and profitability of broadband cable networks, has announced the appointment of Richard Berthold as the company’s Chief Technology Officer.
Proxilliant provides an integrated hardware and software solution for intelligent and proactive service health management of VoIP and other advanced services deployed by cable operators. It gives the service provider comprehensive information about cable-based network and service performance and continuously insuring network quality for such advanced services as VoIP, while slashing field and network troubleshooting time and cost.
Berthold is a cable veteran with more than 20 years of industry experience who most recently served as a senior technology advisor for OSS service operations automation, and advanced voice and interactive television service management, to Comcast and next generation multi-media services companies.
Prior to that he served as CTO of Auspice Corporation, a next-generation service assurance and infrastructure management solutions company that he co-founded. The company’s products are widely deployed by many of the top cable MSOs. As the lead inventor of their core technology, he served both as visionary and lead systems architect of the company’s strategic products, and pioneered the industry’s first automated service assurance systems for VoIP telephony service.
Prior to Auspice, Berthold held several strategic roles as a General Manager, Senior Engineering Development Manager, and Software/Systems Engineer in the design, development and delivery of a wide range of first-of-a-kind products and solutions for highly reliable, highly available and fault-tolerant hardware and software applications at MIT’s Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Mass.
