Jeff Baumgartner has taken the helm as editor of Light Reading's Cable Digital News
April 4, 2007
You heard it here first. Effective this week, Jeff Baumgartner, most recently editor-in-chief of CED, has taken the helm as editor of Light Reading's Cable Digital News. Long-time CDN Editor Alan Breznick is moving over to Heavy Reading as a senior analyst with a continuing focus on cable. Don't you love it when a good team gets even better?
If you haven't guessed from his build, Jeff's got game in the hockey rink. With this line change, Light Reading is now skating a cable power play. Readers, prepare for some new action on the industry ice as Jeff can deliver a solid body check along with a quick wrist shot. Me, I like to drive the Zamboni. Speaking of which, can you believe they have a Hockey Monkey? Larry is in good company.
Juiced by all this hockey-speak, maybe we'll finally be able to replace the tired baseball-based "triple play" with a cooler metaphor like "hat trick."
Jeff's a genuine cable guy. He joined CED in 2000 as assistant editor, a tour of duty that also included a run as the broadband editor of Multichannel News. Before that, he was the Denver bureau chief for CableFAX Daily. Jeff, welcome aboard!
