SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Networking industry leader Jonathan Davidson is re-joining Cisco to lead its Service Provider Networking organization as senior vice president and general manager, service provider networking, reporting to Yvette Kanouff, the senior vice president and general manager of Cisco’s service provider business unit.
This is another important milestone in rebuilding the engineering team under the leadership of David Goeckeler, senior vice president and general manager of networking and security business, which includes the service provider business unit. Davidson joins Roland Acra, who rejoined Cisco last fall as senior vice president and general manager of Cisco’s data center business unit, to join Goeckeler’s organization.
Having served as executive vice president and general manager of Juniper Development and Innovation, and earlier SVP/GM for Juniper’s Security, Switching and Solutions, Jonathan drove strategy, development and business growth for Juniper’s entire portfolio – including networking solutions, routing, switching, data center, cloud, and security.
Earlier, Davidson held a variety of leadership positions at Cisco, developing service provider solutions and leading the enterprise routing product management and SP services team.
“We couldn’t be more excited that Jonathan joins our journey as we usher in the next generation of networking and network automation innovation. He brings extensive experience in strategy and network engineering leadership as well as strong customer relationships that will serve us well,” said Yvette Kanouff, Cisco’s SVP/GM Service Provider Business Unit.
“I’m confident that Jonathan, along with our networking leadership team, will break new ground in networking automation as we transform service providers worldwide. We are thrilled to welcome him back to Cisco,” she added.
