TOKYO and SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (TOKYO: 9432; NYSE: NTT), the world's largest global IT and telecommunications services holding company, will establish NTT Innovation Institute, Inc. (NTT I3), a new R&D center in San Mateo, California on April 1 to accelerate the development and provision of highest-grade information security and cloud computing technologies. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTT, NTT I3 will initially focus on promoting the development of services tailored to the North American market. Best practices concerning intellectual property solutions applied in a modular format in North America will be rolled out globally, including Japan and emerging countries. In the rapidly changing field of cloud computing, cloud service providers are required to roll out competitive, market-driven services quickly. NTT Group
