Is the TIA and USTelecom feud over?
1:05 PM -- From The Philter's Now What? file, a programming note for this week's news coverage.
The editors at Light Reading and, presumably, several vastly inferior publications, were informed yesterday that the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and United States Telecom Association (USTelecom) are holding a joint press conference today -- Wednesday, October 4 -- at 1:30 p.m.
The conference will feature TIA President Matt Flanigan and USTelecom President and CEO Walter McCormick. We'll have a news story following the big show, of course.
But the early speculation is that the two groups are mending fences and forming a new conference called Nextcomm. Or something.
Of course, we don't know that for fact yet. So feel free to reflect on the history of the two organizations and to ruminate on the board below about the potential content that's about to be served.— Phil Harvey, Conference Feud Editor, Light Reading
