SEOUL, South Korea -- Samsung Electronics, a world-leading supplier of fiberoptic cable, introduced today the new cable to its fiberoptic cable portfolio, small and light weight cables designed especially for MAN(metro area network). Samsung MiniLite(TM) offers superior advantage of easy installation and effective use of limited RoW(right of way) such as duct, sewer, and gas pipes while achieving lower overall installation cost. MiniLite(TM) cable is designed to reduce the cable diameter and weight for Metro Area Network. The cable diameter reduced to 9.5 mm for 72-fiber cable provides many installation advantage to the end users who have difficulty in getting IRU for MAN construction. MiniLite(TM)'s light weight also provides the benefit of easy installation by both pull and airblowing installation method. Samsung believes the introduction of MinLite(TM) fiberoptic cable is well-timed with the current market conditions, Many analysts predict metropolitan networks will be among the first to emerge from the current recession and most competitive telecom market. As this begins, Many new players will be dedicate to construct the MAN in various utility environment including gas and sewer pipes.
