2:15 PM -- Larry's favorite news site, Scotsman.com, shares "what the Scottish Executive believes parents should be putting in their children's lunchboxes before sending them off to school for the day":
ONE wholemeal pitta bread filled with cucumber and canned salmon mashed with low-fat yoghurt.
Egg and couscous salad with chopped cherry tomatoes, grated cucumber, raisins and a sprinkling of chives.
A granary-bread sandwich filled with chopped chicken mixed with low-fat yoghurt and crunchy lettuce.
Scottish parents, needless to say, are not leaping to embrace the plan. But hey, it'll certainly toughen up little Angus as it enlivens his lunchroom experience. Can't think of anything that says "Please, beat me up!" quite like an "egg and couscous salad with chopped cherry tomatoes." Hold the yoghurt.
