10:00 AM -- Now that FTTP is all the rage (it's the new Hula Hoop®!) our in-box is flooded with such egregious agrammatical nonsense as:

  • ...our fiber to the premise buildout...

    ...customer premise equipment...

    ...expelled rudely from the firm's premise...

People. Puhleeeze!

If what you mean is "fiber to the proposition upon which an argument is based or from which a conclusion is drawn," then fine. I'm with ya'. But if, as I suspect, your fibrous target is "land and the buildings upon it," then the mot juste is premiseS. Always has, always (Darwin willing) will be.

We're not talking "stylistic choice" here. We're talking "illiteracy." So stop it.

We know who you are.
