IP Infusion enhances its ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite with intermediate-system-to-intermediate-system (IS-IS) support
July 2, 2002
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, announced today the availability of version 4.1 of its ZebOS™ Advanced Routing Suite (ARS). IP Infusion has expanded its advanced IP routing and switching solutions to now include an ISO and IETF-compliant implementation of Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS). “This 4.1 release adds IS-IS to our ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite (ARS) family. IS-IS is one of the fastest growing routing protocols, especially in the telecommunications space, and we have seen growing demand for IS-IS in Asia, Europe and North America within the past year,” said Nick Keating, President and CEO of IP Infusion. “This highly modular and scalable implementation enhances our position in the core and edge of the telecommunications market.” The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite (ARS) Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) Module is based on link-state technology with two levels of hierarchy. It stores information about the state of links and uses that data to select paths. IS-IS forwards packets directly over the underlying link-layer protocols using the Dijkstra algorithm to find the shortest path to the destination. The ZebOS IS-IS is modular software to assist OEM customers to deliver their products in a timely manner to market. The IS-IS Module is fully integrated into the ZebOS Network Services Module (NSM) and the ZebOS IPv4 protocol modules. The ZebOS IS-IS Module is written in ANSI C and is easily ported to different operating systems. IP Infusion Inc.
