Deutsche Glasfaser selects Genexis' Hybrid for Gigabit FTTH rollout in Germany.
July 23, 2014
EINDHOVEN, Netherlands -- Deutsche Glasfaser, the largest independent open access fiber network operator active in Germany, has selected FTTH home gateway supplier Genexis for the delivery of Gigabit fiber gateways. Deutsche Glasfaser has, until today, activated over 50.000 homes and commenced with a rollout of at least 100.000 homes in 2014. For their network, Deutsche Glasfaser uses Genexis’ Gigabit Hybrid gateway providing high-speed fiber routing and wireless in combination with full triple play functions. Deutsche Glasfaser acts as a network operator, providing an open access network on which multiple service providers are offering their services.
“To match our philosophy of deploying an open FTTH network for the service providers, we require a proven CPE solution that is built for open access,” says Peter Kamphuis, Geschäftsführer at Deutsche Glasfaser. “We have witnessed and experienced multiple successful FTTH initiatives, such as the Reggefiber network in the Netherlands, using the Genexis Hybrid gateway. The modularity of the Hybrid enables each service provider to offer tailor-made services on the same platform.”
