Electric Lightwave deploys White Rock Networks' VLX2020 for OC192c carrier-to-carrier service delivery
January 7, 2003
RICHARDSON, Texas -- White Rock Networks, a leading provider of next-generation optical transport systems for the local metro transport market, announced today that Electric Lightwave, Inc. (ELI) has deployed White Rock's VLX2020(TM) OC-192 SONET ADM for OC-192c carrier to carrier service delivery. ELI is taking advantage of the VLX2020's low-cost OC-192 delivery capability to provide an OC-192c service to its carrier customers. The low-cost, low-power, low-profile VLX2020 provides ELI with the full network management capabilities required for carrier-class networks, including SONET performance monitoring, customer demarcation point and remote provisioning and loopback testing functions. The VLX2020's auto-provisioning features simplify and speed installation, and, at only two rack units (3.5") high, the VLX2020 permits ELI to deliver service to its customers in only one-fifth the space or less of other vendors' SONET equipment. The VLX2020 allows ELI to provide enhanced reliability for its customers, react swiftly and smoothly to customer demands and reduce central office space usage, resulting in savings of OPEX as well as CAPEX dollars. "White Rock is proud to provide metro optical transport equipment to a carrier with high technical standards such as ELI," said Lonnie Martin, Founder/CEO of White Rock. "Our NEBS Level 3-certified products are designed for carrier-class environments, and the flexibility of our architecture allows us to add new features rapidly to meet customer demands."
