Azure's M&A run continues as it pays a pittance for interconnect billing firm
November 16, 2004
Just two weeks into November, and British revenue assurance systems firm Azure Solutions Inc. has bought two fellow OSS firms, announcing itself as a telecom software wannabe.
Two weeks ago it bought Connexn Technologies Inc., another revenue assurance firm (see OSS Firms in M&A Frenzy). Now it has snapped up London-based interconnect billing firm Anite Calculus for a measly £750,000 (US$1.4 million) in cash (see Azure Acquires Anite Calculus).
"That's a really good deal. It's a giveaway," says OSS Observer analyst Mark Basham. "Two weeks ago Azure was just another small OSS company. Now it's much bigger, and other firms are going to have to sit up and take notice."
