New 5,500 square meter production and R&D facility in Meiningen, Germany

MUNICH and RAMSEY, N.J. -- ADVA Optical Networking (German Neuer Markt: ADV), a leading global provider of optical networking solutions, announced the completion of construction of a brand new 5,500 square meter production and R-&-D facility in Meiningen, Germany. This emphasizes ADVA's continual drive forward and strengthening customer base in metro optical solutions. The new modular building design incorporates a full glass frontage in an open plan layout. The first expansion phase includes 40,000 square meters of already acquired land permitting a unique contemporary working environment with an option to purchase a further 20,000 square meters for future requirements.
Stephan Offermanns, Chief Operating Officer of ADVA, stated "The new facility will significantly expand ADVA's production capabilities. This, in conjunction with our continuous improvement program, managed by our ISO9001 quality management system, will enable ADVA to be more responsive to customer requirements. These enhancements will be realized both in product design and delivery lead times."
