AT&T's Stephanie Ormston is working to test out the market for network APIs (application programming interfaces). So far she's offering four such APIs, but hopes to expand that in the future.
AT&T has begun investing into the network API (application programming interface) opportunity.
Stephanie Ormston, AVP of digital services integration, is spearheading the operator's efforts in the area. Today, she said AT&T offers four different network APIs to gauge the use and interest in such offerings.
But she said the operator is working to expand the figure, including via APIs that adhere to the GSMA's Open Gateway effort as well as APIs that are exclusive to AT&T.
And what of the revenues AT&T hopes to derive from those APIs? That's still under debate, Ormston said.
