SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Digiquant, a global provider of software infrastructure for communications providers, announced today that Telefonica, one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, has selected Digiquant’s Internet Management System (IMS) as the strategic OSS/BSS IP service platform to manage Telefonica’s service portal and broadband services in Brazil.Telefonica operates in 17 countries with its main markets in Spain and Latin America. Brazil represents the company’s largest market in Latin America. The increasing sophistication of Brazil’s subscribers demanded that Telefonica incorporate more advanced, value-added services to its offerings. To achieve that goal, the operator needed a solution to maximize the return on investment from its existing infrastructure and provide the flexibility to offer multiple new services. Digiquant’s IMS product proved to be the perfect solution. The product’s strong network orientation coupled with its depth of functionality and multi-service capabilities provided the flexibility necessary to support and grow Telefonica’s existing services without disruption and to allow the creation and management of new services and service platforms. The embedded AAA capabilities deliver a level of revenue assurance Telefonica was unable to realize previously. “With its advanced rating capabilities, IMS enables Telefonica to create service offerings with relevant, meaningful pricing schemes. Not only have we realized incremental revenue from existing services, we look forward to the revenue streams generated by the services delivered via the Telefonica Service Portal. In short, IMS enables Telefonica to maximize the revenue derived from its network,” said Benedito Fayan, Technology Director for Telefonica Brasil.Digiquant A/STelefònica
