ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- LightPath Technologies Inc., (Nasdaq: LPTH) a leading value added supplier of passive optical components to the telecom market, announces the introduction of its new TL Mini(TM) family of micro sized gradient index lenses for use in fiber coupling. The advanced form factor of the TL Mini(TM) series allows customers to reduce their overall package sizes. The TL Mini(TM) series lenses are available in 1.0 mm and 0.8 mm diameters, more than a 50% reduction in lens diameter, compared to the 1.8mm industry standard. "LightPath Technologies' new TL Mini(TM) series of lenses utilize the same proven technology as our standard TL series of lenses, but allow our customers breakthrough advancements in form factor," said Jeanne Edwards, Vice President Product Management, LightPath Technologies Inc. "We are excited to introduce this next generation of our TL Lens product line. The optical component industry is migrating to smaller component packages. We believe the TL Mini(TM) Lenses will provide our customers equal to or better optical performance than current standard products with a greater than 50% form factor reduction, allowing our customers more flexibility with space constraints in their next generation designs." The TL Mini(TM) series lenses typically produce collimators with a coupling efficiency of 0.2dB or less and are available in 600 um (full) beam diameters with working distances ranging from 0 to 80mm at 1550nm. TL Mini(TM) lens are now available in pilot production volume quantities. LightPath Technologies Inc.
