ACTON, Mass. -- Michael Hughes, former vice president and chief financial officer of iBasis, Inc. (NASDAQ: IBAS), has leaped into the CFO seat at Gotham Networks, a leading developer of network edge technology. A veteran of entrepreneurial markets, Hughes raised over $500 million in both private and public funding for iBasis and lead the company through a successful IPO worth $120 million. He brings over 17 years of proven financial leadership, including strong relationships with telecom industry investors, to his position at Gotham Networks. As CFO, Hughes will manage Gotham’s finance and administrative functions, and help position the company for future financial growth and stability. “The telecommunications market is going through a time of interesting change. One selects a partner – whether vendor or employer – at this time with great forethought and deliberation. My decision to join Gotham is based on my sound belief in the strength and experience of the company’s management and board of directors, and in the vision of its technology," said Hughes. "I’m pleased to have been offered this chance to join a first-rate team, and to have the opportunity to bring my financial experience as well as my background in operations and corporate performance to such an exciting company."
