AUSTIN, Texas -- Broadwing Communications, a consolidated subsidiary of Corvis Corporation (NASDAQ: CORV), today announced that GENEX Services Inc., one of the leading managed care service providers in the United States, has signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement with the company for data and voice services.

"GENEX has been very pleased to work with Broadwing for the last 4 years. Broadwing's ability to provide increased bandwidth, lower latency, with added security and flexibility, while keeping our costs in control, made our decision to upgrade to MultiConnect from frame relay an easy one," said Chris Darrell, vice president of ISS at GENEX. "Having experienced Broadwing's excellent customer service further simplified our decision to add other Broadwing services to our communications package."

GENEX is utilizing Broadwing's award-winning private line product, MultiConnect, to connect each of its remote locations to its headquarters in Wayne, Pennsylvania. MultiConnect is a unique, distance-insensitive private line offering, which allows customers to connect their wide area network (WAN) using private line speeds at a flat rate price. GENEX is also using Broadwing's dedicated and switched voice, conference calling, calling cards, frame relay and dedicated Internet access services.

"GENEX now has a single provider solution that can address all of their network needs-whether voice or data," said Richard Putt, president of national accounts. "We are delighted that GENEX has renewed their contract, ordered new products and selected Broadwing as their primary provider. We look forward to supporting GENEX as their business and communications needs continue to grow."
